Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – [April 10, 2025] – Skyvast Data Sdn. Bhd. is proud to announce the signing of a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Co., Ltd. to jointly develop Malaysia’s first sovereign-compliant AI cloud infrastructure.
The agreement was formalized at a high-level Malaysia–China digital cooperation event, witnessed by Malaysia’s Minister of Digital, YB Gobind Singh Deo, and His Excellency Lan Tianli, Governor of China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The signing marks a significant milestone in strengthening bilateral collaboration in the digital economy.
This collaboration represents a major step in Skyvast’s mission to accelerate national AI readiness and build futureproof digital foundations for Malaysia.
A New Era of Sovereign AI
The MoU outlines a roadmap for building nationally anchored AI infrastructure powered by Huawei’s advanced technologies, including Ascend GPU chips, Kunpeng processors, and cloud-native systems. Skyvast will lead in business development, application deployment, and market engagement within Malaysia and across ASEAN.
This effort reflects Skyvast’s commitment to creating high-performance, secure, and sovereign AI compute environments that support public services, enterprise innovation, and long-term digital resilience.
Deepening China–Malaysia Digital Cooperation
The MoU is part of a broader series of bilateral agreements signed between Malaysian and Chinese technology firms and educational institutions aimed at deepening cooperation in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, logistics, and smart governance.
