Beijing, China – [November 07, 2024] – Skyvast Corporation recently participated in a high-level business dialogue in Beijing, centred around strategic engagement with China Investment Corporation (CIC), the sovereign wealth fund of the People’s Republic of China. The closed-door meeting was held in conjunction with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s official visit and formed part of a broader diplomatic and economic exchange aimed at strengthening long-term cooperation between Malaysia and China in critical future-facing sectors.
Skyvast was the only private company invited to the session, which brought together top Malaysian government officials and senior leadership from China’s most influential state-owned financial institutions. Attendees included Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz, Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Datuk Ahmad Rozlan Abdul Ghani, and Malaysian Ambassador to China Datuk Norman Muhamad. On the Chinese side, the meeting featured Peng Chun, Chairman and CEO of CIC; Bao Jianmin and Tian Yuan of CIC’s executive and private equity divisions; Wang Sheng, Chairman of China Galaxy Securities; and Long Liang, President of CICC Capital — China’s leading state-owned investment bank.
Skyvast was represented by Group Chairman Shawn Tan, Group Executive Board Director Rafe Azsnal, and Lim Chee Siong, Chief Executive Officer of Skyvast Data Sdn. Bhd. The delegation took part in strategic-level exchanges that explored the structure and alignment of future capital flows, particularly in the areas of sovereign digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence ecosystems, and green innovation.
