Hebei, China – [March 21, 2024] – Zhang Zefeng, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Provincial Department of Commerce, extended a warm welcome to a distinguished delegation led by Shawn Tan, Group Chairman of Skyvast Corporation, and Niqman Rafaee M. Sahar, Minister Counselor for the Malaysian Embassy in China. The delegation included Dato Haji Zamri Bin Haji Ahmad, Head of Planning and Operations from Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad (PNSB) and senior management from Skyvast. This pivotal meeting marks Skyvast Corporation’s inaugural visit to Hebei, China, aimed at exploring promising avenues for economic and trade collaboration.
Director Zhang Zefeng welcomed Counsellor Niqman Rafaee and his delegation. During the meeting, Rafe Azsnal, Executive Board Director of Skyvast Corporation, introduced the Malaysia Innovation Economy Corridor, while the Hebei Commerce Department presented the investment environment of Hebei Province. Both parties engaged in discussions to further promote economic and trade cooperation.


Director Zhang pointed out that in recent years, Hebei Province and Malaysia have maintained close economic and trade relations with broad prospects for future cooperation. This year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, providing an opportunity to explore potential trade growth and investment cooperation. He emphasized the importance of actively promoting trade exchanges, conducting online and offline interactions based on supply and demand, seeking cooperation opportunities through deeper understanding, expanding trade volume, diversifying trade categories, optimizing trade structures, and achieving breakthroughs in trade cooperation. He sincerely invited Malaysian embassy officials and business representatives to participate in this year’s Langfang International Economic and Trade Fair and welcomed more Malaysian enterprises to invest and develop in Hebei. He also encouraged Hebei enterprises to participate in the construction of the Malaysia Innovation Economy Corridor.
Counselor Niqman Rafaee expressed his gratitude for the support from the Hebei Provincial Department of Commerce. He noted that the friendship between Malaysia and China has a long history and a solid foundation for cooperation. The discussions provided a deeper understanding of Hebei’s industrial development. He hopes to enhance cooperation in artificial intelligence, electronic information, healthy food, and commercial logistics between the two regions, share development experiences in key industries, and expand enterprise cooperation into broader and more extensive fields.
The meeting was attended by Tang Jinjiang, Level II Inspector of the Provincial Commerce Department, and officials from the Department’s Order Department, Foreign Trade Department, Foreign Investment Department, Foreign Economic Cooperation Department, Investment Promotion Department I, Investment Promotion Department II, and International Department. Representatives from CIECC, Fujian CIECC, Hebei Logistics Industry Group, Hebei Land Port Construction Group, Shouheng Group, and Hebei Dahui Building Materials also participated in the meeting.
